Real Wedding: Rob & Robin

Robin & Rob..........I initially met Robin back in September 2011 after she found me on Yelp. We got together to discuss her wedding plans for her June wedding. We talked about how she was a Graphic Designer and she really liked my website (I was elated because it was fairly new and I worked hard on it with Cathy from Love Inspired to get it just right). She told me about her color scheme which consisted of Grey, White and Yellow and I was thrilled with her color choices since I love grey with ANYTHING. During the months leading up to the wedding we bounced ideas around and fine tuned the details. Just days before the wedding we added some fun lounge furniture to the outside deck and guests enjoyed that along with a little photo booth fun. A great time was had by all and the couple was on Cloud 9!

Such a beautiful and unique shot at the Bridal dressing room at North Chapel.

The bride is the only daughter among 3 brothers so needless to say this photo is priceless.

'maids in same color but different style dresses. Love!

A fun group of guys. They kept me laughing especially the Best Man.
It's the small details that people remember...love these straws and personalized koozies!
They loved the Big Woody bus!
Another beautiful creation from Sweet Cheeks Baking Co.!

Love when bridesmaids catch the bouquet ;-)

R & R are such a sweet couple and I adored working with them. Wishing them nothing but lifelong love and happiness!

San Diego A-List ~ Best Wedding Planner

We are excited and honored to be nominated again this year for San Diego A-List! Please take a few moments and vote for us under the best Wedding Planner category. It would be greatly appreciated!

Characterizing Cocktail Hour

Consider including your theme in ways other than the linens, favors and colors.  For example, the cocktail hour offers several different approaches including your signature drink.  This is a great way to have a semi-open bar (save money) and create thematic fluidity (pun intended) throughout your event.  Your signature drink or drinks can be available on hand for your guests, while other drinks ordered by your attendees are from their own pocket.  By doing so, you save a great deal of money and include your guests in your theme.

A tropical-themed wedding may offer a PiƱa Colada, Mai Tai or Bahama Mama.  A theatrical event may serve drinks with characteristic names such as 007 or the Tomb Raider.

Your color scheme may be apparent on your tables and in your centerpieces, but you can also include your pallet in a signature drink:

Pink
Lady
PINK LADY MARTINI            BLUE HAWAIIAN             MOJITO

LONG ISLAND ICED TEA            RUM PUNCH                COSMOPOLITAN

                  LEMON DROP MARTINI                   WHITE RUSSIAN

If you have chosen to cater your event with a specific cuisine, pair your signature drink with the food.  For example, a Spanish event may serve Sangria.  American cuisine may offer unique beer selections from local micro-breweries.  Accompany your French menu with a champagne cocktail.

Don’t forget to personalize your signature drink by naming it something memorable and creative!

Real Wedding: Jeff & Susana

Ahh...where to begin with Jeff & Susana...I adore this couple. We first met after Susana submitted an inquiry through my website. Her exact words in the e-mail: " I am interested in meeting with you as soon as possible to see if we are a good match. I need help planning my wedding so that I don't pull my hair out.". I replied to her immediately stating that I couldn't have a bride pulling her hair out and that we must meet ASAP to see how I could help. Long story short, I met with Jeff & Susana and it was like hanging out with long time friends.

They originally wanted to have a 2013 wedding but had already planned to have a civil ceremony in early 2012. One day, to my surprise, I received a call from the bride stating they wanted to move forward with a full blown wedding in a month!!! I quickly started making contact with some of San Diego's Finest Wedding Vendors to see if they were available for this low key weekday wedding and boy were my fellow colleagues eager and willing. The rest is history...enjoy the photos!

 Just beautiful...
Sunflowers! What the bride wants, she gets.
Floral cups hung from the umbrellas outside on the patio where cocktail hour was held.
The one request that the bride truly had but was not within budget was a mariachi band. How cool is it that her parent's made it happen! Love surprises during a wedding!

One of the statements Susan made during one of our meetins was that she didn't want to go into the sand. She was adament that she didn't want the ceremony to be in the sand and she didn't even want to take photos in the sand. I had to tease her when I saw the photos like this one of her having a ball in the sand with her new husband. Too cute ;-)

They are a ball of fun and laughs and we have become friends. Wishing Jeff and Susana everlasting love and happiness!

Everlasting "Engagement" Love: Stefani & Linzie

"Engagement"...The reason for the quotations is because the fun part is Stefani & Linzie are already married, happily, and they are gathering their closest family and friends to celebrate their everlasting love in a beautiful, lavish, and over the top wedding celebration later this month. Here are a few photos from their LOVE shoot!
This is one of my favorite photos. They are such a fun couple!

We are very much looking forward to the Vow Renewal Wedding Celebration of Stefani & Linzie!
Stay tuned....

Happy Memorial Day!

In honor of Memorial Day, we thought we may suggest ideas for adding military touches to your wedding.  With these meaningful  details, your wedding doesn't have to cater specifically to a military theme yet the traditions can still be relevant:

  • Salute the service with your groom's cake.  Design a cake that has a special relevance to your branch of service, rank or MOS.
  • Incorporate the military into your accessories: wear a camouflage garter or dangle dog tags from your bouquet.
  • Savor the saber!  Cut the wedding cake with your NCO sword to the tune of cadence.  Your military attendees can sing along.

Wherefore art thou Wedding Venue?

Wedding venues come in all different shapes and sizes.  On our Facebook page, we have recently posted alternative ideas to the more common wedding venues.  Your choice of wedding venues can play a big role in the ambiance, mood and budget of your wedding.  It can also express your personality as a couple.

For example, a very artistic couple may enjoy their wedding at an art gallery.  Your decor cost may be minimized, and your venue would definitely serve as self-expression.

A dog-loving couple may want a dog-friendly event!  A local dog park may be willing to rent out their space for a donation.  Usually this donation is less than you would pay for more common venues, but you are responsible for bringing all other aspects (chairs, decor, catering, etc) to the event.

Many couples share a particular hobby.  Your wedding is a great time to share this hobby with friends and family.  A nautical couple's wedding may be on a boat, and a couple with a love for books may choose a historical library for their festivities.  Anything is possible!

Consider where you met your partner - a sporting event, for example.  You may wish to incorporate details of your meeting into your special day - host the event at a stadium.

We found this great article that lists "Five Things You Need to Consider When Choosing a Venue."  With this information, you have the tools to consider any location for your event!
