Real Wedding (A vow renewal celebration): Stefani & Linzie

When Stefani first called me to inquire about my services I knew she going to be a ton of fun to work with. She was very specific about her needs and expectations. She explained to me how her and her husband Linzie had been married for 17 years and that when they married it was a simple ceremony at the courthouse. She told me that they were originally going to try and do a vow renewal celebration at their 15 year anniversary but how that had come and gone. She stated that life is too precious and she didn't want to wait for year 20. I met with Stefani & Linzie at their home and we began to discuss the details of the event. We hit it off immediately and I knew this would be a planning experience to remember.

The "theme" of the celebration was known as "The Journey". This was symbolizing all of the many experiences, good times and bad and roads traveled by this beautiful couple. The decor was the most important aspect of the event for Stefani and she truly wanted their guests to enjoy a fun and exciting experience. She was all about the bling. Anything that sparkled, gleamed or shimmered was incorporated amongst the eggplant, victorian lilac, silver and black colore pallette. We incorporated the journey theme through the custom logo that Jenn from Pink Star Designs created. The wedding included a red carpet welcome with a custom photo backdrop and tray passed champagne. Some of the delectable delights guests enjoyed were a crab cake station and purple margarita punch cocktails affectionately named "Love & Happiness". The wedding also included: Two areas of lounge furniture, a candy buffet, custom white oval dance floor, crystal encrusted tables and bar, a second photo booth, bedazzled bon bon chocolate favors and more. It was truly an affair to remember.

Real Wedding: Jez & Rai

Over the past 8 years of being a wedding planner I've had the great pleasure of working with some wonderful clients. In 2010, I had the pleasure of being a part of planning An & Chris' wedding. The groom Jezriel was Chris' best man which is how I initially met him. I then had the chance to meet the beautiful bride Rachel at their friends, Nancy & Kyung's wedding which they all attended. So over the past couple of years it's been a wonderful experience being a part of this group of friends and helping them plan such momentous occasions.

During the planning process Rai & Jez were both incredibly busy with school and work but had quite a few of the major components worked out when they hired me. Every time I would meet with Rai her planning binder was thicker and thicker. I would tease her and tell her by the time the wedding day arrives she would be pulling that thing around in one of those wheeled backpacks =) They were so kind sweet and fun to work with that I was just excited about the wedding as they were.

The wedding was held Saturday, August 25th. It was a beautiful day with wonderful weather. The couple was getting ready just down the road at The Rancho Bernardo Inn. Rai asked me to stop by her hotel prior to heading over to begin set up at the reception venue. I stopped in to check on her while her and her girls were having their hair and make up done. I had a few items to pick from her so I didn't find it odd that she had asked me to come by. To my surprise she had Sprinkles cupcakes for me and her and her bridesmaids sang Happy Birthday to me for my 30th birthday which was that coming Monday. It was one of those heartfelt moments that always reminds me that I have the best job in the world.

The ceremony was held at the beautiful St. Therese of Carmel Catholic church followed by an outdoor cocktail hour and reception at the Rancho Bernardo Courtyard. It was a day full of love and merriment. The color scheme of grey, white, ivory and yellow gave an ethereal and romantic feel to the Spanish style courtyard. The guests listened to live guitar while sipping the bride and grooms specialty cocktails and nibbled on fine tray passed hor d' oeuvres. The best man, Chris, gave a hilarious roast toast and had everyone in tears with laughter. One of the highlights of the evening was watching a same day edit video of the events that had taken place just hours prior on this magical day. Guests raved about their overall experience and the couple expressed a wealth of gratitude for an amazing day. Enjoy the gorgeous video and photos.

I got goosebumps watching this amazing video footage of the day from NR3 Video Productions.
