What a cute idea!

I was browsing the web and came across this cute idea on Etsy. It is a Couples Wedding Scroll. Each scroll is custom designed to the life story of the couple. You can order small ones as favors or have one blown up and frame it for display on your seating card table or guest book table. Check it out!

Real Wedding: Nicole & Doran

Nicole and Doran were a fun loving couple who knew exactly what they wanted when they hired me as their coordinator. They were  planning for a small wedding of no more then 50 guests to be held on a Friday evening in August. Their colors were were shades of blue, yellow, ivory and black. They wanted to keep the look simple.

The flowers were done by the great team at Botanic Allure

The ceremony was held at Cuvier Park

Personalized water bottles and fans were placed on each chair to keep guests cool on the warm summer day

Wonderful photography by Adam Baruh

Who doesn't love a Sword Arch Grand Entrance?!

The reception was held at the Brigantine Restaurant in Del Mar. It is a great location and it overlooks the Del Mar Racetrack.
Pretty cool!

Gotta love cupcakes! Cupcakes Squared

In lieu of a favor a donation was made to the Prostate Cancer Foundation in honor of the bride's father who passed away

A huge thank you to all of the vendors who helped make Nicole & Doran's wedding a success and the best of luck to the happy couple!

Love note: Cassandra & Dan

DeShai,

Thank you ever so much for being such a huge part of our special day. You are a Godsend to take over at the last minute. We could NOT have done it without you.

Sincerely,

Cassandra & Dan

Helpful hint: Linens

Below is a linen chart to help you select the right size linens for the tables that your venue provides or that you are getting from a rental company. More often then not people end up with linens approx. six inches off of the ground. No matter how many people tell you it isn't necessary for them to go to the floor, I strongly disagree. It is completely worth it to pay the extra couple of dollars to not see the table legs and to add that extra touch of elegance to your event. Hope this helps:

Standard table height is 30"h

Mmm...Bubbly!

I was recently at the Bridal Bazaar and came across this booth that seemed to be extremely popular. When I approached I realized they were giving away samples of a new brand of champagne premium cocktails called Dirty Blonde Cocktails. Naturally, I had to have a sample since everyone seemed to be raving about it. They have four refreshing flavors. These would make a great gift for bridesmaids, favors, or even for bachelorette parties and bridal showers. Raspberry Flirtini, Citrus Mimosa, Sparkling Mojito, and Peach Passion Bellini are the flavors available. Check out the site for more info and where to purchase.

Real Wedding: Nicole & Gary

Nicole & Gary were married this past summer. It was my first time coordinating a wedding at Mt. Helix and the views are spectacular. It is so peaceful and serene. The couple chose the color scheme of red and yellow to signify Love & Friendship.

Ceremony: Mt. Helix
Reception: Nan Couts Cottage

In honor of the bride's father, she carried a single long stemmed red rose which she added to the eleven roses in the vase. The song "A Dozen Red Roses" was played in his honor. It was a touching moment.

Nan Couts is a quaint little cottage in La Mesa and is a great location for a small reception or party.

Words of Wisdom!

I couldn't have said it better myself. This is worth the read.

San Diego Style Weddings

For the second year in a row Oh So Chic participated in a tablescape photo shoot for San Diego Style Weddings Magazine. You may remember our previous post. We were paired up with Peggi Walker of Metro Floral who did the amazing florals for this design. Our shoot took place at the La Costa Resort and the photos were taken by Garrett of Garrett Photography. Be sure to pick up your copy at a bookstore or newstand near you... or snag a free one if you schedule an initial consultation with us (based on availability).

Viva Las Vegas!

I recently took a trip to Las Vegas for a wedding conference for wedding professionals. I was so excited to find out that it would be held in one of my favorite cities. Las Vegas has the most beautiful hotels and everything is usually under one roof. I went with my fellow planner friends and we stayed at the gorgeous Venetian hotel. I love to see the decor in the different hotels. Here are some photos that I took when we wandered over to the Wynn.

Fabric Chandelier at the Wynn
Shells and orchids adorn the Foyer table
"Parasol Down"- This is great inspiration for a wedding or party theme. The rich colors would make a bold statement.
This would be a gorgeous setting for an evening garden wedding. White lights are always an affordable decor item. You can also have your florist create pomander balls to hang from trees if you are using an outdoor venue.

There was a restaurant/bakery inside the Wynn called Sugar & Ice that had their cakes displayed along the wall at one of the entrances to the hotel where the shop was located. I love how the display cases were framed like works of art.

OSC Featured Wedding

We were lucky enough to have one of our weddings featured on so you're enGAYged As previously posted Tammy & Jill were an awesome couple to work with and they as well as myself couldn't have been more pleased with the outcome of the wedding. Check out the post!

Summer In Review

What can I say...Summer is coming to a close. This year is flying by. Before you know it the holidays will be upon us. This summer was challenging, fun, stressful, and productive. Although I do regret not spending a relaxing day on the beach like I vowed I would do, it was overall a great summer for business. There were new obstacles to overcome, great vendors that we worked with, beautiful venues that we had the chance to experience and best of all, wonderful couples that are continuing on their journey of life together. Each year is a new learning experience and each year the couples and their families validate my choice of the wonderful career that I have chosen. A huge thank you to all those who give me encouragement, love, and support. Best wishes to all and I look forward to the upcoming clients that I will have the good fortune of working with to make their dream day a reality.

Real Wedding: Azure & Delon

Azure and Delon were a fun couple to work with. They knew exactly what they wanted and how they wanted it. The couple had been together 13 years before tying the knot. They knew that they wanted to get married at their home and waited until they had purchased one so that the memories from their wedding would be even more special. The choice of food was specifically chosen to reflect them and their cultures.

The wonderful vendors that were a part of making the wedding a huge success:

Photographer: Captured Moments
Catering: Harney Sushi, Taquizas, French Gourmet
Cupcakes: California Cupcake Co.
DJ: CD Toons
Florist: Alan James Welder Design

Before the big reveal!

The brides mother walked her down the aisle. I love how the photographer captured this moment just before she gave her away.

The couple wed at their home in Carlsbad.

Well wishes cards in lieu of a guest book

These cupcakes were delicious! The ones with the chocolate dipped
strawberry on top were a hit.
